Content is King - Social Media Video

I recently had the opportunity to get behind the lens... the lens of an iPhone. Digs on Canal in Lemont, IL hired us to shoot a commercial for their social media channels, as well as to release as pre-roll in the theaters.
Armed with an iPhone 14 Pro and DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer, I took to the streets of Lemont.
Backed by a custom jingle written by a local musician, the iPhone visuals made their mark. The content we were able to capture with the help of the restaurant staff looked great. After a morning shoot, followed by an evening session, I cut the :45 version for social media which was used for Facebook and Instagram. The :30 version was used in the local theater.
In this instance, the project worked because we were able to accommodate the client's budget, which was much smaller than an average shoot. The client and I both were blown away by the quality of the iPhone video. At the end of the day, the content did the talking, not necessarily the size of the camera sensor or the marketing budget.
